The cross Russian-Greek year of history will continue until mid-2022, the website of the Ministry of Education and Science reports. This decision was supported by both countries.
According to the organizers, the COVID-19 restrictions prevented some of the actions planned for last year from taking place. The cross-year plan will be updated with new events, bringing together almost 150 thematic actions.
In particular, the cooperation between the universities of both countries is expanding. There are network educational programs, joint scientific research and much more.
Last year, the Faculty of History of Lomonosov Moscow State University joined the organizers of the international forum dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Greek revolution. This year, the Capital Greek Cultural Center of Moscow will help organize lectures on the political history of Greece. In addition, classes of Greek will continue.
The history of Ancient Greece and Byzantium remains one of the most sought-after fields of study at the historical and philological faculties of Moscow State University. Students of both faculties have the opportunity to study both ancient and modern Greek.
