Two Russian wineries were included in the list of 50 best wine producers in the world according to the international World's Best Vineyards competition. The Russian brand Sikori Vinery closed the top 20, while the Lefkadia Valley brand became 23rd, RIA Novosti reports.

The Krasnodar Vineyards Gai-Kodzor was included in the short list of the rating. The top three wineries in the world included brands from Argentina, Spain and France, while Portugal and Chile became the leaders in terms of the number of wineries represented in the top 50.

Russkiy Mir reported that the International Organisation of Vine and Wine recognized the Russian language as one of the official languages of the organization. It became the 6th language to achieve this status. Experts believe that this decision is a de facto recognition of the growing share of Russian winemaking in the world market.
