Russian wins iPhone Photography Awards for 1st time

The main prize in the competition in photos taken with the iPhone went to a Russian. The award went to Moscovute Tatyana Merzlyakova,  RIA Novosti reports.

The picture taken during a trip to Teriberka in the winter of 2021 won in the Travel category. The photo shows the northern lights. According to the author, the temperature dropped to minus 27, the humidity was very high. It was difficult to turn on the camera even with gloves on.

Tatyana Merzlyakova explained that there is no retouching on the photo. She called Teriberka a place of incredible beauty and advised everyone to visit it.

The organizers of the competition received thousands of pictures taken with the iPhone taken in almost 150 countries.

Among the laureates are representatives of 17 countries, from Romania to Bangladesh. Photojournalist Istvan Kerekes from Romania was named Photographer of the Year for the photo entitled Transylvanian Shepherds.
