The plans of organizing the Russian-Portuguese Cross Year of Culture were discussed during the meeting by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his colleague from Portugal Augusto Santos Silva. Their meeting took place on Monday, May 31. According to the Russian minister, the large-scale event will unite the cultural and educational spheres, as well as youth exchanges, TASS reports.

Sergey Lavrov noted that the epidemiological situation will improve over time, sanitary safety measures and other restrictions can be abandoned. Then several cultural and humanitarian events timed to coincide with Portugal's chairmanship of the Council of the European Union will take place in the traditional manner. In particular, several concerts are planned for the Russian capital, said Sergei Lavrov.
