Russia last year set a record for food exports, RBC reports. The Ministry of Agriculture notes that during 2020, the export of agricultural products to foreign countries amounted to almost 80 million tons. The total amount of food exports has reached almost 31 billion dollars. According to experts, this is 20% higher than the results of 2019.

Experts note that for the 1st time in the history of the new Russia, the country received more from the sale of agricultural products abroad than it spent on imports.

Russian food is bought by 150 countries. China retains the status of the largest importer: it acquires 13% of supplies. Turkey is in the 2nd place, the country imports 10% of Russian good, the top-3 is closed by Kazakhstan - it accounts for almost 7% of goods.

The Ministry of Agriculture explained the record figures by the good pace of development of the industry as a whole, as well as by the desire of many countries to increase stocks against the backdrop of the pandemic.
