Photo exhibition on Modern Russia opened in Havana

The Modern Russia photo exhibition opened on one of the central avenues of the Cuban capital. The event, organized by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Havana and the Russian Embassy in Cuba, was dedicated to the Day of Russia. The holiday program also included a number of online events, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

Thanks to the photographs presented at the exhibition, residents of Havana can get acquainted with the most striking sights of Russia, historical monuments and modern development of the country.

The program for celebrating Russian Day also included an online roll call of Russian-Cuban friendship groups created in various regions of Cuba. Cuban graduates of Soviet and Russian educational institutions congratulated the Russians on the holiday online. 

In Pinar del Rio province, an action was held in memory of three Russians who participated in the struggle for the independence of Cuba. Representatives of the local authorities, the Union of Historians and the Institute of Friendship of the Peoples of Cuba showed that on the island remembered the feat of the “Russian Mambises” and the long-standing friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
