Russia has to defend its own interests, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev explained after announcing the decision to impose retaliatory measures on anti-Russian sanctions from Ukraine. He has signed the corresponding document, RIA Novosti reports.

From the beginning of the summer, Russia will supply coal, oil and petroleum products to Ukraine only after receiving a separate permit.

In addition, deliveries of products of machine-building enterprises, light industry and metalworking from Ukraine will be banned. The Head of Government recalled that last year the delivery of such goods from Ukraine reached two hundred and fifty million dollars.

Some types of paper and cardboard, clothes and shoes, pipe products were also banned.

Russkiy Mir reported that last month Kiev introduced new anti-Russian sanctions. Almost eight hundred and fifty people and about three hundred legal entities fell under the additional personal restrictions.

The sanctions list included Severstal and Silovye Mashini companies, as well as the largest Russian publishing houses.

Restrictions will be valid for three years. They include blocking assets, restricting trade operations and preventing the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine.

The sanctions war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for more than three years, with Moscow always imposing restrictions as a response.
