Golden Mask Award 2019 held at Bolshoi Theater

The solemn ceremony of the 25th Golden Mask National Theater Award was held in Moscow on Tuesday, April 16. The Historical scene of Bolshoi Theater became the venue, TASS reports. All theatrical Russia gathered in a huge hall. Winners were determined in more than 40 nominations. 

The staging of Jeanne au Bucher by Perm Opera and Ballet Theater became the best opera performance. Katie Mitchell received the title of best opera director. She was awarded for Alcina staged at Bolshoi Theater. 

The best opera performers in the men's and women's nomination are Natalia Muradymova and Vince I. They perform at Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater. Nureyev at Bolshoi Theater was called the best ballet. The dancer Vyacheslav Lopatin is recognized best for performing the main role in it. Nureyev brought victory to choreographer Yuri Posokhov. 

Ekaterina Krysanova received the award for the best role. The ballerina was awarded for her work in Romeo and Juliet play at Bolshoi Theater. 

The title of The Best Performance in Contemporary Dance was awarded to the Minus 16 production of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater. 

Golden Mask for the best musical went to Novosibirsk. The local musical theater was awarded for Roman Holiday play. Its director Philip Razenkov also received the award. 

An Optimistic Tragedy. A Farewell Ball by Saint Petersburg Alexandrinsky Theater is recognized the best dramatic performance of a big form. The award for the performance of a small form was given to Novosibirsk Globus Theater for the production of Pianists. 

Daria Moroz was called the best dramatic actress. She played a male role in the Three Sisters at Moscow Art Theater. Kamil Tukaev from Voronezh Chamber Theater is the best actor.
