Berlin would be happy to lift the sanctions against Russia, however, Russia is required to fulfill some obligations, the head of German Federal Ministry of Finance Wolfgang Schäuble believes, according to TASS.

“We would be happy at the day when there are no any sanctions”, Schäuble stated. At this, the Minister added that Russia must take all necessary measures to make it happen, and Ukraine might take some actions, too. He also explained that the restrictions were imposed with no enthusiasm, but Berlin could not simply ignore the violation of international laws. Schäuble has specified that Germany is very interested in collaboration with Russia; however, a range of stipulations should be fulfilled for this.

It is worth reminding that anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the European Union have complicated the situation, however have not resulted in complete rejection of German investors to take part in Russian projects. Presence of German business in our country has not ceased to exist and is even developing now.

European countries lost around 400 000 workplaces after Brussels had decided to impose sanctions against Russia and Moscow had taken counter-measures. German economy had the hugest losses accounting for more than 6 billion euros and almost 100 000 workplaces. French economy lost more than 1, 5 billion euros, economy in Poland sustained losses equaling one billion three thousand euros. The losses of Austria amounted to about 500 000 euros and almost 7 000 workplaces.
