Russian and Iranian presidents discuss perspectives of economic development growth

RF President Administration The meeting of presidents of the Russian Federation and Islamic Republic of Iran was held in Moscow the day before. The main topic of negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Hassan Rouhani was expansion of trade, economic and investment relations as well as implementation of major projects in the petroleum, nuclear and transport fields, according to the official website of the Kremlin.

Putin and Rouhani noted that closer cooperation between states is required to stabilize world oil and gas market.

‘We work very effectively in almost all directions: international affairs, major and important challenges, economic questions. Lately we managed to reach impressive results over the last years’ Russian President said.

16 various agreements and memorandums regarding Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, Russian Railways, Gazprom, Rostourism were signed at the meeting of two heads of state.

Gazprom and National Iran Oil Company (NIOC) agreed on collaboration in the gas field. Rosatom undertook obligations of nuclear materials' transportation and approved of constructing necessary infrastructure in Iran for storage of nuclear materials.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has contently commented that the relations between the states are improving and Russia and Iran might become strategic partners in future.

Vladimir Putin has also been satisfied with the outcome of the negotiations.
