Multimission Maritime Aircraft Boeing P-8A Poseidon of US Navy on Tuesday conducted a reconnaissance in the Kerch Strait and Crimea, RIA Novosti reports.

The aircraft with tail number 168848 is part of the 26th US Navy Patrol Squadron. It approached the coastline of the peninsula at a distance of 31 kilometers.

The strategic drone RQ-4A Global Hawk, which also monitored the demarcation line in the Donbass, made a reconnaissance flight there on the same day, according to PlaneRadar.

Recently, the activity of foreign reconnaissance aircraft and drones near the Russian borders has increased. In particular, they were noticed both in the region of the Crimea and the Krasnodar Kray, and near the western borders of the country. The Defense Ministry repeatedly urges Washington to abandon such operations, but the Pentagon refuses.

As Russkiy Mir reported earlier, on the morning of November 25, the Ukrainian military ships Berdyansk, Nikopol and Yana Kapu crossed the state border of Russia, violating Articles 19 and 21 of the UN Convention on the Sea Law.

The ships entered the temporarily closed Russian water area and for several hours carried out dangerous maneuvers without responding to the demands of the Russian border guards.

All three ships were detained approximately 20 kilometers from the Russian coast and 50 kilometers south-west of the usual passage of ships along the Kerch Strait under the Crimean Bridge.

On Tuesday, the court arrested 15 of the 24 sailors of the Ukrainian ships.
