Russians and residents of other countries evacuated by charter flight from Yemen

Flickr/ERIC SALARDResidents of the Russian Federation and other countries were evacuated by the charter flight from Yemen together with Russian Embassy employees, RIA Novosti informs. Russian Foreign Ministry has advised that everybody wanting to leave the armed conflict zone took this plane.

Diplomats will continue working in Er- Riad, the Saudi Arabia. This decision was taken due to the situation in Yemen, which became more serious and intense.

The opposition between official government in Yemen and khusits, followers of Shite branch of Islam, has been aggravated at the end of summer 2014. Rigorous fights began a month ago in the capital. The rebels tried to capture some state institutions and civil objects. On December 4, the ex-president of the country was killed by the rebels two days after the announcement of breaking off relations with khusits.
