Russia joins the UN sanctions against North Korea

17.10.2017

www.rusembdprk.ru/ru/Vladimir Putin has signed the UN sanctions act against Pyongyang over its nuclear and missile programs, RIA Novosti reports.

At this, Russia curtails economic, scientific and other ties with North Korea connected with developing nuclear or ballistic missiles' programs, in line with U.N. sanctions. There are also various restrictions on trade, financial transactions and transport ties.

From now on Pyongyang's diplomatic property on Russian territory might be used for diplomatic purporses only

It is worth reminding that on five days ago the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted a US-drafted resolution to impose new sanctions on North Korea after its authorities announced the successful hydrogen bomb test. These H-bombs North Koreans plan to install later on new intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Current UN resolution № 2375 imposes the strongest sanctions ever imposed on North Korea, including export of textiles, preventing overseas workers from earning official wages, drastically reducing oil and petroleum products import, etc.

At this, Pyongyang has underlined that despite the sanctions it will further develop the nuclear program.
