Tillerson: US determined to collaborate with Russia regardless sanctions

Tillerson notes that neither Donald Trump nor the Secretary of State himself met this initiative gladly. At this US President plans to sign the bill.

Tillerson explains that they will have to reconcile with the new document, however it will not hinder restoring good relations with Russia. The head of American diplomacy has again declared that it is necessary to follow Minsk agreements for sanctions’ lifting or mitigation.

According to the Secretary of State, Americans want good relationships between the strongest nuclear powers. Earlier Donald Trump has said that USA needed some good news from Moscow.

Commenting on the decision of Moscow regarding cutting the number of staff working in the American Embassies in Russia and their objects, Tillerson expressed assuredness that it was based mainly on internal political reasons.

He has warned that Russian-American relations are under threat of further deterioration, however at this, there are fields where interests of both countries coincide. It is combating international terrorism, first of all. As per Tillerson, the situation in Syria proved that combined work was possible.

The Secretary of State plans to discuss further plausible steps of bilateral collaboration during his personal meeting with Lavrov in the capital of the Philippines at the nearest weekend.
