Russian figure skaters win gold medals in the men's, women's and duet competitions of the European Championship, which was held in Austria. Out of the 12 awards that were in the draw, only two went to other countries. The Russians repeated the USSR national team’s record in 1986 by the number of awards, TASS reports.

The championship ended with the competition of single skaters. After a short program, three Russian female athletes took the lead, they also shared the tournament medals. The first was Alena Kostornaya, Anna Shcherbakova won the silver medal, and Alexandra Trusova the top-3.

Three medals brought by the women brought the total score of the Russian team to ten. Earlier, Dmitry Aliev won first place in the men's standings, Alexandra Boykova and Dmitry Kozlovsky won the competition among sports couples, Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov came first among the dance duets.

The Russian team achieved a golden result in all disciplines six times in history, the last time it happened 14 years ago. According to experts, the team showed the highest level of preparation before the World Cup, which will be held in March in Montreal. It is noted that achieving victories there will be much more difficult, since the Russians will have to compete against very strong sportsmen from the USA, Canada and China.
