Russia starts celebrating 130th anniversary of Boris Pasternak

Exhibitions, concerts, reading activities and other events will be held at the Boris Pasternak’s museum in the Peredelkino writing village near Moscow. The events are dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the poet and the 30th anniversary of the museum. The Pasternak’s anniversary will be celebrated on February 10. Fans of Boris Pasternak’s talent from around the world will be able to participate in events via Internet, the website of the State Literary Museum reports.

Events of the anniversary year have already started. A series of exhibitions called Boris Pasternak. Topography of Fate will be held in the poet’s museum. Five expositions will be available from January to the end of November, they are going to reflecting various stages in the life and work of the poet. The exhibitions will be supplemented by excursions and lectures.

The museum also intends to create the Pasternak School Society and invited teachers and schoolchildren to join it. Society participants are going to discuss Pasternak’s life and biography. 

A Day of Pasternak documentary project will allow internet users to join the celebrations of the poet’s anniversary. Everyone can film themselves reading memoirs or letters of Boris Pasternak and post it on social networks. The anniversary program also includes concerts that feature music written in different decades of the 20th century.
