The Russian Heritage gala evening will be held today in the suburbs of Brussels, according to the website of the Belgian Federation of Russian-Speaking Organizations (BFRO). The charitable event has become an annual tradition and has taken its place in the calendar of cultural life throughout Belgium and even other European countries.

The evening is held by the Pushkin International Foundation, its founders - the descendants of the great Russian poet, the married couple Alexander Alexandrovich and Maria Alexandrovna. They live in Belgium.

This action is dedicated to two anniversaries at once. One of them is Alexander Pushkin’s 220th birthday. Another anniversary date will be 20 years since the foundation began.

Russian and Belgian businessmen, scientists, cultural figures, diplomats are going to attend the event. They will be joined by heads of organizations of compatriots and members of the Society of Russian Nobles in Belgium.

The Russian folk ensemble Uslada will perform for the guests. The evening will end with a charity lottery.

The Russian Heritage Prize will be awarded as part of the holiday. The honorary award is a glass tree with a lush crown and deep roots. It symbolizes the strong connection of the current generation of Russians with the golden age of Russian statehood, the carriers of which are the best representatives of the Russian diaspora.
