The next Dresden ball will be dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic war, TASS reports. One of the main social events this year will be held in St. Petersburg as well. Both balls will be united by one theme. In Dresden, the ball is scheduled for early autumn, and St. Petersburg will host it at the end of winter.

According to the artistic director of the ball Hans-Joachim Fry, the organizers want to celebrate this important anniversary date. The action will take place in the famous Dresden Semperoper theater, which gathers thousands of people. The Russian violinist Pavel Milyukov and the star of the world opera Yusif Eyvazov are going to perform for the guests. The Orpheus Radio Choir will come from Moscow. Fry invited the Russian public to come to the ball in Dresden.

The Mikhailovsky Theater, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall and the Arts Square will become ballrooms in St.Petersburg. The organizers want to celebrate the anniversary of Alexandra Pakhmutova at the ball. The famous composer turned 90 years old a few days ago.

The Suvorovites and the students of the boarding school for girls of the Ministry of Defense, recently opened in St. Petersburg, will become the debutants of the ball.

The Dresden Opera Ball was first held in 1925, but fourteen years later ceased to exist. The reason for the resumption of the ball was the 800th anniversary of the capital of Saxony. This season will be the fifteenth in a row. The Dresden Opera Ball was held in St. Petersburg for the first time this summer.
