17th Russian Film Week launched in Paris

16 recently produced Russian movies to participate in the 17th Russian Film Week that takes place in Paris from 13 to 19th November. There are festival films as well as wide audience movies dedicated to Russia, including Beanpole, submitted to compete for Oscar, RIA Novosti reports. 

Film screenings and q&as with Russian film professionals are included in the program. Brotherhood, Ayka, Russian Boy features along with Beanpole have already participated in recognised international festivals. 

The war topic is introduced with features about the First World War, the Second Wourld War, and the Afganistan war. Several movies will unveil recent history. Salyut 7 Historical period drama tells about two Russian cosmaunauts who bring the Salyut 7 space station back to life. 

The  Russian Film Week is supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture.
