Australia honored memory of Russians who died on fields of First World War

A memory action was held in honor of the Russian soldiers who died during the First World War at the Memorial of Glory in Melbourne. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Russian Embassy in Australia, government officials from Melbourne, the Russian ethnic representation of Victoria, the Orthodox clergy of the state, bikers from the Night Wolves. Australia motor club and the descendants of the participants in the First World War, the Edinenie newspaper reports. 

At the beginning of the action, the anthem of the Russian Empire was played, after which the ceremony participants were introduced to the history of the First World War, told about the countries that took part in it and the consequences of the battles. According to the speakers, the Russians fought on five fronts of the First World War. The ceremony included the laying of wreaths at the memorial from various organizations and communities.

Note that the memory of the Russians who died in World War I was honored in Sydney in April. About a thousand Russian nationals became part of the Australian-New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC), which went to the fields of World War II. Modern Australians sacredly honor the memory of warriors of the corps. The ANZAC memorial complex was created in Sydney, to which the participants of the Immortal Regiment rally lay flowers every year.
