Yuri Gagarin monument is opened in Kathmandu

Yuri Gagarin monument is inaugurated in Nepal capital, Rossotrudnichestvo website reported. It is installed in the central city park. The bust inauguration was dated with Yuri Gagarin's 85th anniversary .  

The Cultural Dialogue – United World international charitable foundation has presented the monument by Russian sculptor Alksey Leonov to the city.  Public organizations and Nepal authorities representatives, locals, Russian ambassadors and Russian astronaut Viktor Savinukh have attended the event. 

The Chargéd’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Russia in Nepal Yuri Yuzhaninov thanked the city authorities for accommodating the monument to the first man in space.  

Kathmandu mayor Mr. Shakya underlined the importance of the bust installation as the action thatpromotes multicultural dialogue between Russia and Nepal.
