Library Night 2019 held in 85 regions of Russia

The annual Library Night educational event took place on the night of April 21, according to the website of Ministry of Culture .

It was held for the 8th time, more than 2500 cultural institutions took part in it. This time the festival covered not only libraries, but also museums, philharmonic societies, theater studios and bookstores in 85 regions of the country. The main theme of it was All The World's a Stage in honor of the Year of Theater.

The program of Library Night promised to be diverse and rich. The main objective of the event was to increase the interest in reading, popularization of Russian language and Russian culture. The festival included performances, exhibitions, poetry readings and contests, master classes, creative meetings with writers and lectures on history of literature. Fans of active recreation could visit thematic excursions and historical and literary quests.

The action is designed for readers of all ages. Bibliodusk was organized for the smallest ones. Traditionally, guests were invited to Russian State Library. According to its Director Vadim Duda, guests visited the main book depository. He said that they saw a lot of interesting and unexpected. In addition, there was a retro show.

Head of Moscow Department of Culture Alexander Kibovsky noted that meetings with writers are the most popular among residents of Moscow. About 50 meetingsare scheduled in Moscow.
