The students of Georges de la Tour Lyceum from the French town of Metz took part in the classes of the international Russian Language school organized by the Tyumen State University (TSU). During the week schoolchildren took classes, visited the sights of Tomsk, communicated with Russian peers and got acquainted with laboratories and other educational infrastructure of TSU, the university website reports. Fifteen school students and a Russian language teacher came to Tomsk. In the morning, the guests studied Russian and in the afternoon they got acquainted with the sights of the city, the region and its inhabitants. The lyceum students attended classes in Russian and French in local schools and met with their peers.

The visit was organized by several divisions of Tyumen University, including the Regional Center for Franco-Russian Cooperation. A student delegation of TSU will visit France at the invitation of the University of Lorraine during the upcoming summer. There will be a summer school in law and economics. The guests had detailed excursions to the institutes and laboratories of TSU, during which students learned about programs for foreign students, as well as the opportunities and benefits of studying at TSU, which became one of the leading universities in Russia. It is possible that someone from the French schoolchildren will choose a Russian university to continue their education.
