Russian classical literature is included in compulsory program of Mexican schools, Argumentu Nedeli (Weekly Arguments) newspaper reports. According to the Mexican ambassador to Russia, Norma Pensado Moreno, Russian literature is "simply fantastic." At the same time, she noted, the verses of Vladimir Mayakovsky, who had been in Mexico more than once, were not very popular among Mexicans.

The diplomat reminded that Moscow and Mexico City always had a good relationship. This can be noted in all areas, ranging from political and economic issues, ending with culture and tourism. Nevertheless, she is sure that the opportunities for cooperation are far from exhausted, there is still room for its further development.

Since last year, there has been a bilateral committee on culture, education and sport. The two countries reached a full understanding in these areas, the ambassador said. In the near future, the Russian-Mexican Relations Committee, aimed at improving trade relations, will start working in Russia. A similar committee is already active in Mexico.

An exhibition uniting the most influential aerospace companies and universities of Russia and Mexico is to open in Mexico City in two weeks. Meetings of Russian and Mexican leaders of national universities are scheduled during the event.
