The exhibition dedicated to Mikhail Sholokhov and the characters of his books opens in Berlin on Tuesday, March 26. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, which is located in writer’s homeland, the village of Veshenskaya, prepared it.

The World of Sholokhov: Don Cossacks exposition is included in the program of Russian Seasons in Germany. Its visitors have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the main inspirers and characters of the works of the Nobel laureate — Don Cossacks.

The exhibition includes Mikhail Sholokhov’s books published in various countries, photos of the writer with his relatives and famous people, including Yuri Gagarin.

The exhibition is complemented by objects of culture and life of Upper Don Cossacks, their costumes and weapons. Excerpts from documentaries and recordings of Cossack songs will be shown. In addition, visitors will get acquainted with Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, where the writer's heritage is kept.

It should be recalled that the museum plans to develop cooperation with Japan and Scotland. After the October Revolution, Don Cossacks turned out to be scattered throughout the world, so now this topic is of a great interest. The museum has several travelling exhibitions.

New exhibition dedicated to Sholokhov opened in Rostov-on-Don. Do Not Judge Your Brothers exposition tells about historical events that are discussed in the most famous novel of the writer. Visitors of Sholokhov Center can see the personal belongings of Kharlampiy Yermakov. Many believe that this particular Don Cossack became as prototype for the protagonist of Quietly Flows the Don.
