Famous French and Russian historians will discuss the contribution the members of the Romanov dynasty made to the development of relations with European countries in Paris. The Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Educational Center hosts The House of Romanovs and His Place in Russian-European Humanitarian Relations conference on February 7. This event is timed up with the centenary of the execution of the last Russian emperor Nicholas II and his family and organized by Russia’s Ministry of Culture and the Russian Embassy in France, the website of the Diocese of Chersonese reports.
The permanent secretary of Academie Francaise Hélène Carrère d'Encausse, the head of Imperial Route project Anna Gromova, the director of the State Museum of Contemporary History Irina Velikanova, the president of Orthodox Encyclopedia Sergei Kravets are to report at the conference.

Tsars and emperors of the Romanov dynasty established relations with European countries, organized military alliances with them and married the members of these countries’ ruling families. This helped the Romanovs to become related to the royal houses of Germany, Great Britain, Denmark and others. The merits of the Romanovs family members and their contribution to strengthening Russian-European ties are eternized by monuments and museums in some Western countries. The places associated with Peter the Great, Catherine II and other Russian monarchs are popular tourist destinations.

Russkiy Mir reported the Slovak Ministry of Culture to have called for the inclusion of the Romanov Dynasty and its European Heritage tourist route in the Cultural Paths program of the Council of Europe in November.
