Sochi hosts 5th International Pedagogical Forum

“In the 21st century, the teenagers' speech has changed so significantly that they would need a translator to talk to a peer of the first half of the last century", President of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL), head of the board of trustees of the Russian World Foundation Lyudmila Verbitskaya noted in her greeting to the participants of the 5th International Pedagogical Forum named Language Norms. Types and Problems (program). Greeting was read by a member of the MAPRYAL Presidium, an expert on the methodology of teaching Russian as foreign language, Tatyana Mlechko, PhD in pedagogical sciences.


Rector of the Russian Herzen State Pedagogical University (RSPU), Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, Sergey Bogdanov, at the opening ceremony, conveyed greetings from Lyudmila Verbitskaya and expressed confidence that she will participate the next forum.


The founders and organizers of the forum, held on December 3 - 4 in Sochi, are the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the Ministry of Enlightenment, the Russian Academy of Education, the Russian Herzen State Pedagogical University, Russian World Foundation, Russian Society of Russian Language and Literature Teachers, International Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers. Its participants were Russian and foreign teachers of Russian language as native and foreign language.

Deputy Russian Minister of Enlightenment Tatyana Sinyugina welcomed the teachers and read a welcome address on behalf of the Minister of Education Olga Vasilyeva.


“The forum gethered specialists for whom the teaching and popularization of the Russian language has become a matter of life. Only those who perfectly know and truly love our language and culture can teach the Russian language. It unifies the countries, Chairman of the Russian World Foundation Board Vyacheslav Nikonov said. The executive director of the fund, Vladimir Kochin, read the greeting.


The forum also received other welcoming addresses from the President of the Russian Academy of Education, Yuri Zinchenko. Galina Romanova, Rector of Sochi State University, and Maxim Krongauz, Professor of the Russian State Humanitarian University.

After the short solemn part, the teachers began a two-day-work. In 2018, participants discuss the formation and development of the language norm, types of the language norm, and problems of teaching the language norm.


Round tables, workshops, competitive programs, exhibitions of literature on Russian studies.
