Final stage of Russian language Olympiad held in Madrid

The final round of the Russian language Luch Olympiad has taken place on November 11 in the capital of Spain. The tournament was held with the assistance of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. The Russian Word Teachers Union in Spain organized the event with the help of Rossotrudnichestvo and Spanish Union of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad.

About 400 people participated the first selection. These included children who study Russian in addition education schools in different regions of the country, including Alicante, Almeria, Valencia, Valladolid, Gandia, Mallorca, Madrid and Torrevieja.

Forty people reached the final, they showed the best results at the regional tour. Children from 5 to 15 years old arrived in Madrid. They had to cope with tasks divided by different levels of difficulty. Children who study Russian as a foreign language also participated. They were provided a special version of the tasks.

The final of the Olympiad was celebrated with a holiday of the Russian language for all the guys who demonstrated a high level of knowledge and performed Russian songs, dances and verse by Russian poets.
