Russia and Spain have almost elaborated a document on mutual recognition of academic degrees and national driver licenses, TASS cites the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Sergey Lavrov after the meeting with his Spanish counterpart Josep Borrell. Negotiations took place on November 6 in Madrid.

According to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the agreements will help to make the communication between representatives of both countries much more convenient. The Foreign Minister assured that the parties decided to cooperate more actively in other legal areas of the bilateral relations.

The MFA head added that for the second year the trade turnover between the countries continued to increase. Last year it reached five billion euros. Unfortunately, this is still much less than in 2013. In his turn, the Spanish minister promised that Spain would continue to work on normalizing the situation. He complained that Spain was one of those countries that suffered the most from the sanctions.

Sergey Lavrov also voiced the hope that a cooperation agreement on the fight against terrorism will be inked soon.

The parties also discussed the INF Treaty. Borrel called the US exit from it a huge mistake. Lavrov regretted that of European countries and other UN members refused to discuss the INF Treaty at the meeting of the UN General Assembly.
