Costumes and dances of the last century as well as dishes cooked by Russian recipes has been prepared for the participants of the 12th Alexander Palace Ball. The Russian Century ball will be held on October 19 in Toronto, the Council of Russian-Canadian Cooperation reports.

The Russian Congress of Canada, the Svetoch Association of Slavic Culture and the Tsarskoye Selo Museum-Reserve jointly conduct the charity event. The main goal of the ball is the return of historical values to Russia. This time several valuable exhibits will be turned over to the Tsarskoye Selo museum collection.

Each year the occasion has a new storyline. For example, last year the participants reconstructed the last Imperial Boyar Ball held in 1903. This time the main theme of the event will be the Russian emigration of the 1920s and its contribution to world and Russian culture. The organizers emphasize that leaving the motherland the emigrants remained Russians who concerned about the fate of their country and carried Russian culture to the world.

Only a hundred tickets to the Russian ball are on sale, usually they are sold out long before the event. Descendants of Russian emigrants, Russian compatriots and Canadians interested in Russian culture and history participate the occasion.
