24 Russian universities enter top 100 best BRICS universities ranking

Universities from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Samara, Barnaul and other Russian cities have entered top 100 BRICS  universities ranking. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings has included 101 Russian higher education institution out of 400, Kommersant media reports. Chinese universities have received first five places 

Four Russian universities have entered top-20: Moscow State University (6 place), Saint Petersburg State University (11 place) followed by Novosibirsk State University, and Tomsk State University (19 place). 24 mainly technical and economical colleges of Russia, including two private ones, have been included into the top-100.

According to the authors of the Index, Russian universities lead in graduates' knowledge estimation made by employers. Along with academic level, this is one of the most important indicators taken into consideration. Best from this point stays Lomonosov MSU.

The authors of the Index have underlined that Russian universities should be rated better if they intensify research activities.
