Russian-German scientific center to appear in Samara

Samara National Research University begins cooperation with SLM Solutions RUS German company in additive manufacturing processes, TASS reports. They will give chance to create with 3D printer metallic powder details with the help of laser.

Russian-German engineer center will start working on the basis of the high education institution in the closest future. It has to open during this year. The project aims to educate Master’s students and retraining course. 

The Center will help to consolidate all research results in this field, joined by those enterprises who adopt new additive manufacturing technologies. 

In addition, scientists to develop bionic design technologies in the new center and individual endoprosthesis creation. 

Two years ago in Samara scientists created a project, and then made experimental sample of cervical spine implant made out of Russian titanic powder. The cost of these implants is lower than models abroad.  

Combustion chamber of aerial gas turbines printed on 3D were successfully tested one year ago in Samara.
