International organizations need to pay attention to the Lviv authorities' decision to prohibit the Russian language use, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokeswoman Maria Zakharova says. She calls this initiative "flagrant," PolitRussia reports.

According to her, this decision clearly demonstrates a discrimination based on language. The MFA representative is convinced that the Russian language does not even need any additional assessments.

In Ukraine (including Lviv) politicians always speak but also think in Russian, stresses Maria Zakharova. This relates to the most of Ukrainians. Out of this fact the moratorium on Russian is nothing than a war between the authorities and their people.

She adds that with such a decision the Lviv authorities tried to mark the visit of the Ukrainian president to the city. There is no other explanation.

As Russkiy Mir reported, two days ago Lviv forbad the "cultural product" in Russian in the public places of its region territory. Deputies of the regional council supported the corresponding decision.

Parliamentarians also consider it necessary to create an ad hoc working group to conduct regular consultations both with individuals and with legal entities.

Soon, the regional parliament will prepare the appeal to the Verkhovna Rada. Lviv deputies want to propose changes to the Ukrainian legislation banning the public reproduction of audio and visual works in Russian.
