Leo Tolstoy's 190th anniversary celebrated in Vietnam

On September 13 the Russian Center at Ho Chi Minh City State Pedagogical University hosted a thematic meeting with students of the Russian language department dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy.

The head of the Russian Center provided the students with a presentation covering the origin of the great writer, his parents, the main stages of his life.

A particular interest was caused by the period when Tolstoy did his military service, his participation in the heroic Siege of Sevastopol during the Crimean War and the Sevastopol sketches creation.

During the presentation Zolkina gave deeper information to the young Vietnamese about the life and work of the Russian writer. The presentation was supplemented with some interesting facts from the Tolstoy's biography.


The second part of the meeting included the demonstration of Anna Karenina feature film.
