The one-on-one talks of Russian and American leaders have lasted for more than two hours, instead of 1,5 hours according to the protocol, RIA Novosti reports. The summit took place in the Finnish capital.

Before the face-to-face meeting start Vladimir Putin noted that "the time has come to have a thorough discussion on various international problems and sensitive issues.” After the talks were finished, Donald Trump estimated the meeting as a "very good start."

Upon conclusion of the  one-on-one talks, the expanded format meeting between Russian and American delegations has started.  The top diplomats from both countries,  Sergei Lavrov and Mike Pompeo are among its participants.

As we reported before, the meeting between Russian and American leaders is the first full-scaled summit of Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Among the topics is settling the Syrian conflict and an issue with Iran.
