The finals of the FIFA World Cup held in Russia were capturing and dramatic brining victory to the young football team of France. They competed against the Croatians who failed to respond to prompt attacks of the French.

The first time of the match equaled the score, both teams exchanging the goals (the own goal of Mario Mandzukic on the 18th minute and the goal of Ivan Perisic on the 28th minute). The French met the break with one score overbalance - 2:1, thanks to the mistake of Perisic (the penalty goal by Antoine Griezmann).

The Croatians started mighty attacks during the second time, but several times met counter strikes of the French – the goals of Paul Pogba on 59th minute and Kylian Mbappe’s on the 65th minute. The score was 4:1 and the match seemed to be over, however, the Croatians showed their teeth and Mario Mandzukic hit the score on the 69th minute – 4:2 in the French’s favor. Despite all the attempts of the Croatian team, this was the final score of the game.

It was the second World Cup for the French. They took their first Cup in 1998.

Note that on its way to the finals, Croatia left behind the teams of Denmark, England and Russia in the quarterfinals. The French won from Argentina, Uruguay and Belgium who took the 3d place eventually.

A gala closing ceremony of the Football World Cup took place at the Moscow’s stadium Luzhniki. Around 800 people took part in the ceremony, including famous footballers and pop starts. A well-known actor Will Smith, an American signer Nicky Jam and an Albanian singer Era Istrefi sang the official anthem of the tournament Live It Up. The spectators watch the dancing and drumming show afterwards.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic were present at the festival. All of them including FIFA President Gianni Infantino hailed and congratulated the football players after the match.
