US Congressmen representatives are going to pay a visit to Russia in the closest future, TASS reports.

According to the Russian Ambassador in the US Anatoly Antonov, both the House and Senate and the US Congress representatives are going to be part of the delegation. The Russian diplomat said that for now the exact dates are not specified, although Russian visas have been issued already. American guests are going to visit Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Anatoly Antonov called the visit an “important signal”, and expressed the hope that it would allow to mend the relations between the two parliaments.

The trip might help congressmen to get rid of usual negative stereotypes that Washington spreads about Moscow.

The diplomat hopes that a return visit is to be arranged, but it could be discussed on the results of the American delegation.
