Russian team’s victory celebrated in Russia and abroad

Russian fans flooded into the center of Moscow celebrating victory of the national team in the meeting with Egypt. In half an hour, after the game was over, Manezhnaya Square, Nikolskaya and Tverskaya Streets were crowded to the full. People were shouting out - Go, Russia! and chanting Katyusha accompanied by cars’ beeping, TASS informs.

Fans from Argentina, Brazil, Columbia and Morocco celebrated together with the Russians.

The victory of the Russian team was celebrated in Sochi including Panama fans who stayed in the city after the game of their team with the Belgians. The fan-zone which accommodates up to 10 000 people was full house – the fan festival in Sochi was attended by almost 20 000 people.

The Iranians who arrived to Kazan for the game of their national team with Spain watched the game too. There were much people watching the game at the festival championships’ ground. More than 25 000 people gathered there. The central pedestrian street was filled with dancing and singing people. Fans played football there.

Riga supported Russia too. There was the Fan Tent organized. A small fan-zone appeared in the city center, visited by the Russian diplomats. Each score of the Russian team was welcomed by loud applauses. According to the Tent organizers, the football in Latvia is not so popular and they hope to change the situation.
Many Russian-speaking people residing in London watched the game in the British capital. They gathered in sports pubs and restaurants of the Russian cuisine. Due to the time difference people came here after work to refill the energy, have meal preferring to order the Russian beetroot soup and dumplings for dinner. The House of Fans organized in London’s representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo welcomed guests.

The Balkans, US, Australia supported our team. Compatriots and football fans were sincerely glad at the Russian team’s victory and the fact that the county’s team entered the 1/8th of the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 32 years.
