First Russian library opened its doors in the Gaza Strip of the Palestinian Authority, the International Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots reports.  The most part of the books is intended for kids who learn Russian in PaRus Russian language courses. However the library is open for the general public, including Russian compatriots.

The books are kept in the Russian representative office in Gaza. These books were previously brought to the Book fair in Ramallah in the beginning of May.

About 700 Russian citizens live on that territory, most of them are the children of mixed marriages. Traditionally the interest in Russian language is very high in mixed families. Due to political turmoil in the enclave, such generous donation has a humanitarian value.
