Russian presidential election discussed at Russian compatriot conference in Italy

The 12th Conference of Russian compatriots communities in Italy took place in Verona, as per the Moscow House of Compatriots’ website informs. Basic topics for discussion were Russian presidential election, interaction with Russia-speaking communities not included into the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots of Italy, protection of children under age, specifics of Russian schools and cooperation with youth.

Conference participants were greeted by representatives of the Consulate General of Russia, Adviser of the Russian Embassy in Italy, representatives of the Department for coordination with compatriots abroad, co-chairpersons of Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots of Italy Yulia Minsker and Larisa Tsertsago and Rossotrudnichestvo representative Oleg Osipov. Honored guests were advisers of the city administration of hospitable Verona Vito Comencini and Rosario Russo.

Conference participants provided new data about Russian community in Italy. Currently around 42000 of Russians live permanently at the Apennine Peninsula, the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots of Italy includes 40 organizations representing interests of 3000 Russian-speaking nationals.

Employees of Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots of Italy from different cities received Diplomas of the Government of the Russian Federation for longstanding and successful work of uniting our compatriots, preserving Russian culture and for fruitful work of protecting rights of Russians living in Italy.

Organizers made a decision to conduct the 13th Conference of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots of Italy in the Italian southern region of Calabria.
