Days of Russian Book held in Paris

rusoch.frTraditional Days of Russian Book were held in the capital city of France the past weekend, as per the Russian Newspaper. The central topic this year was a role of women in literature as writers and book characters. The ground for the forum was city administration of the Fifth Paris vicinity. The event was supported by the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

Zakhar Prilepin, Roman Senchin and Geman Sadulaev came to take part in the book festival. A poetess from Moscow Galina Balebanova gave a speech about Marina Tsvetaeva in front of the audience. She mentioned that Paris citizens were very thrilled to listen to poems of the Silver Age poets: their lines did not leaverusoch.fr anybody listless.

There were also new Russian books’ presentations, round tables and thematic meetings. The French could attend Russian language classes and public lectures on the Russian language. These lessons were conducted by teachers from Russian Center for Science and Culture in Paris for all interested people.

As per the project organizers, the aim of the Days of Russian Book is acquaintance of French audience with Russian literature drawing the two cultures closer to each other.

A gala awarding ceremony of winners of 12th Russophonia Award winners for the best translation of literary works from Russian into French took place.
