According to the trade representative of the Russian Federation in UK Boris Abramov, even growing anti-Russian rhetoric was not an obstacle to this intention. He has noted that the petroleum industry, technologies and education are the fields of the keenest interest of the Scottish partners, RIA Novosti informs.

These questions were discussed at the meeting of the Scottish Government representatives and business association of Scotland with trade representatives of the Russian Federation. The meeting was initiated by the Scottish party.
Scotland is a traditional economic partner of our country. Last year Russian-Scottish turn over has grown for the first time over the last three years. Scotland occupies 26th place in the list of Russian partners on the trade turn over. Edinburgh is willing to increase this level.

The green energetics is another important field, where Russia and Scotland might start interaction. There is enough experience in this sphere. Abramov has added that there are other interesting directions for cooperation though.
Ambassador has mentioned that several intergovernmental contracts will be signed in the nearest future. Besides, a visit to UK of Russia’s representatives to discuss some projects is already planned. Scotland has also received an invitation for St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
