Dresden Russian Center held a Day of short films

22.12.2017

The Russian Center of the German-Russian Institute in Dresden held a traditional Day of short films on the shortest day of the year. The purpose of the event is to attract people’s attention to short films, exchange the experience and knowledge and also to demonstrate new works.

This year partners of the event were Youth Center of the Russian Filmmakers Union, the social support foundation Generations Link and the movies festival Film break.

The films produced by the social support foundation Generations Link were shown for the first time. According to the director of the foundation Ekaterina Efimova, this is an independent youth project aimed to preserve the memory of WWII events. The special thing about the project is that young people volunteer to participate.

The movies festival Film break is also presented by volunteers, both students and young professionals, who want to interest kids in history by involving them into specific activities.
The theme of the project is WWII and this is the only film festival dedicated to the topic.
