Russian flags from San-Francisco Embassy are on display at the Russian Embassy in Washington

18.12.2017

ksors.orgRussian flags taken down from Ex-Russian Embassy in San-Francisco by CIA representatives now are displayed at the Russian Embassy in Washington. Russian flags were easily seen by the guests invited to the state reception timed with the 210th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and USA, RIA Novosti reports.

Let us remember, Russian flags were removed from Russia's diplomatic properties in San Francisco two months ago, and The Consulate General of Russia in San Francisco has stopped its work on September, 2.  The flags were removed and treated “with care”, as US side has commented. Nonetheless, Russian MFA has estimated that step as vilification of the national symbol.
The State Department decision was made “in the spirit of parity,” answering the seizure of US diplomatic staff in Russia by 755 people as a result of anti-Russian sanctions.

Apart of that, US authorities didn't let Russian Embassy workers to remove archives from San Francisco consulate. Despite protests of Russian diplomatic mission the archive was independently packed and removed to Washington by US officials.
