Global Teacher Prize nominates Russian teacher for the first time

pixabay.comRussian teacher was nominated for the annual Global Teacher Prize for the first time, TASS reports. More than 20 thousand applications have arrived from 180 countries, and only 50 teachers were included in the final shortlist. The main goal is to show once again that teacher's profession deserves worldwide recognition.

Natalia Kiseleva from Moscow School #1409 is included into the shortlist.

The Award ceremony to take place in Dubai. The name of the winner to be announced in February.

The Global Teacher Prize is a US $1 million award presented annually to an exceptional teacher who has made a difference. The Award is established by Sunny Varkey Foundation. Sunny Varkey is education entrepreneur and philanthropist who has established   global advisory and educational management company GEMS Education. The competition is conducted under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Emir of Dubai.  

The Global Teacher Prize Judging Academy judges the competition. It includes public officials, head teachers, academics, journalists, entrepreneurs, company directors, scientists and entertainment industry figures from around the world.
