Belgian compatriots awarded for Russian heritage preservation

Award ceremony of Russian Heritage prize took place on the outskirts of Brussels, Belgium. This ceremony has become a part of the namesake charity gala event that gathered circa 200 people from Russian diaspora and Russian diplomats, informs The World Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots.

The head of Belgian association Harmony A. Ushkova has become the winner in “Bilateral relations promotion” nomination. Her colleague leading DemoTerra compatriots' association N. Dmitrashko was marked for “Developing Russian language and culture in Europe”. The public figure M. Lyaport was granted for a charitable activity.

Russian Ambassador in Belgium Alexander Tokovinin has expressed a gratitude to our compatriots who strive to preserve Russian heritage abroad. He has also noted very big input of the International Pushkin Foundation leaded by the poet's descendants – Maria and Alexander.

Italian entrepreneur Marco Maggi's book, "Russian to the Bone," is now accessible for purchase in Italy and is scheduled for release in Russia in the upcoming months. In the book, Marco recounts his personal odyssey, narrating each stage of his life as a foreigner in Russia—starting from the initial fascination to the process of cultural assimilation, venturing into business, fostering authentic friendships, and ultimately, reaching a deep sense of identifying as a Russian at his very core.
