Russian athlete called the best volleyball player of Europe

All-Russian Volleyball Federation//FacebookRussian sportsman, diagonal hitter Maxim Mikhailov is called the Best Male Volleyball player in Europe of the current year, IA Interfax informs.

European Volleyball Confederation has reminded that he gained the title of the Continent’s Champion being a member of Russian team. Besides, the volleyball club Zenit-Kazan where he plays won the Champions’ League tournament. Zenit has won Russia’s tournament and Russia’s Super Cup.

It is worth reminding that the final competitions of the European Volleyball Championship for men took place in Krakow at the beginning of September. The Russia’s national team took the golden medals leaving the German team behind.

Besides, Zenit coach Vladimir Alenko was included into the list of nominees. He was named the best coach of male volleyball team.

Beach volleyball players from Russia Maria Bocharova and Maria Voronina who won European Championships among reserve teams simultaneously in two categories – for ages of up to 18 years and up to 20 years, were bestowed a special award in nomination The Breakthrough of the Year.
