Planetarium in Naples named after Yuri Gagarin

Picture presented by Scientific-Research Y. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center A new planetarium in Naples, Italy, honors Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, RIA Novosti informs. A ten-meter dome was accommodated inside the Astronomical Observatory of Capodimonte next to the monument in honor of the first cosmonaut of the planet.

Up to seventy people will be able to visit the planetarium simultaneously. A digital projector with intensity of 7,5 thousand lumens able to transmit image with resolution of 2560X1600 pixels is placed in the center of the dome.

The project of setting bronze busts of Yuri Gagarin has been in force for more than 6 years. It was initiated by Dialogue of Cultures – United World foundation. More than forty monuments to Gagarin appeared in thirty different counties over this period.

As Russkiy Mir Foundation reported earlier, this month memory of the first cosmonaut was eternalized in Da Nang, Vietnam. The bust was earlier installed in Astana.

In the closest future, the bust to the fist cosmonaut will be set in Nigeria, Palestine and Serbia. Monuments will be unveiled in Japan and Seoul, South Korea.

Besides, organizers of the campaign ae going to deliver Gagarin’s bust to the Antarctic Continent to one of the Russian stations.
