Monument to Yuri Gagarin unveiled in Da Nang, Hong Kong

Picture provided by Y. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center Monument to Yuri Gagarin appeared in the city of Da Nang, Hong Kong, TASS informs. It has been unveiled in the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum’s Park today, November 9 as a part of the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum.

According to one of the organizers of the project Igor Novoselov, Moscow presented Vietnam with the first space conqueror bust made of bronze. The sculpture was made after the project by Alexey Leonov.

The park is situated on the bank of the Khan River. It is decorated with different compositions dedicated to historical figures. They were presented by countries taking part in Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum.

It is wort reminding that the project of setting bronze busts of Yuri Gagarin has been in force for seven years already. More than four dozens of monuments to the fist cosmonaut appeared in more than thirty counties over this period of time. The monument in Vietnam is number forty-three. The plan is to unveil monuments in Nigeria, Serbia, Palestine and Italy. The monuments will appear in Japanese cities and Seoul, South Korea in 2018.

Besides, the organizers are going to deliver the bust to Gagarin to the Antarctic Continent on one of the scientific stations of the Russian Federation.
