Russia will strengthen humanitarian relations with Alaska

wikipedia.orgIn a course of Alaska delegation visit in Russia, sides have reached an agreement on developing Russian-American humanitarian relations, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

Group of community leaders from Alaska included scientists, non-profit organizations and Orthodox Church representatives, and members of Historical society. They have participated in Echo of Russian America: Historical and Cultural Heritage conference in Ryazan.

After the event has finished some delegation members were invited to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' office. Sides have agreed to promote contacts, including participating of Russian scientists in Alaska Historical Society's endeavors.

Russian diplomats have expressed the hope that despite some obstacles in Russian-American relationships, humanitarian contacts maintained on the very high level. One of the projects is devoted to digitalizing Russian American documents located in US archives.
